Chef Kris Bateman opened the shop with a simple idea: bring classic French technique to the everyday sandwich and salad, and serve it to neighbors and visitors alike.

Every plate is treated like a blank canvas. Flavor, texture, and temperature are balanced in every bite, whether you order the Chowan Club, a seasonal Strawberry Beet salad, or the daily special. We're a small, family-run kitchen, and we cook lunch fresh every day from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The shop is small and the line can stretch down Broad Street, so come early or settle in and enjoy the afternoon.
